Can't remember the colour of the wire, but CANBUS wiring needs a microswitch to operate the relay. NN sell them (link at top of page) ( I think they might have a circuit diagram when you click on it)

I took the signal from white/ middle wire of high beam connector.
+ and - directly from battery to relay, signal via switch. Canbus does not give any errorcodes. My bike is ym.2007 GSA. If you dont find the right wire, I can send you a photo. ( if I just find how )

The "microswitch" button, if pressed, shows the circuit diagrams. I still had a friendly auto-electrician fit it with me taking off/refitting beak etc.
Setup gives spread, not range, & is illegal unless a switch if fitted to turn the "foglamps" off. But they're less dazzling than the standard dip beam. Mine stay on all the time. Just about to fit bluish bulbs (& maybe a flasher relay?!!)
An interesting point this. I tried to look at contruction and use regulations and read that if any part of a light is below 500mm above the road, it is called a fog light and must be independently switched. You'd have to go some to get these less than 500mm above the road!
Perhaps any respected UKGSer with inside knowledge could sort this out!
