Spring 2012 Le HOG Roast...

just need to get this camping weekend sorted for 24/25 september... JD must be on holiday.......ill give it till the middle of the week and if we have not heard from him we can sort something out...it would be good to meet up this year!

UPDATE VOTE REQUIRED

ok something to think about over winter:

Option one

Early tunnel Friday 500 mile day to house, sleep/drink, out Saturday explore, Sleep/drink 500 mile day back to late tunnel Sunday home!

or

Portsmouth to St Malo overnight on Thursday leaves at around 2015 share cabins (i can get a small discount) arrive at house Friday AM around 10:00 (45 miles) dump gear explore coast sleep/drink, out Saturday explore, Sleep/drink... Sunday along WW2 beaches/WW2Cemetaries Omaha etc/Point le Hoc to Cherbourg for Fast Cat to portsmouth getting in around 21:00....

cost wise, factoring in Tunnel/fuel/tolls there is not a lot in it.... the benefit of the ferry is an extra night on the piss (Thursday) some great entertainment/singalongs.... then a days riding for fun rather then the motorway!....Sunday can be made intresting too and the vomit comet is always funny.....i like to eat pies as i watch others turn green.....

any hows, as a collective let me know your votes... either "I'm a chutney Tunneler and like dark holes" or "Hello Sailer is that bunk free".... The 2012 bookings are open now so i'm run an enquiry and see how much!

I like the Portsmouth -St Malo and back via Cherbourg option cos I live in Reading and its a better ride to the ferries :thumb2

Looking forward to it:beer jug:

Are the actual dates confirmed?

Have we confirmed dates for this yet?

I'm up for this, I'll camp in the garden in me tent!

Dont mind where from, but would prefer the Portsmouth ferry as its a lot nearer for me.

Would it be acceptable to wear 1 pair of pants all weekend?

Can I vote for the Portsmouth option? My favourite departure point... Ride down to Mozzarella Joe's on the front at Southsea and have a damned fine meal...at way less than ferry prices..then onto the ferry..and first into the bar...just has to be done...this is where I perfected riding bike onto ferry...grabbing my pre-prepared carry on shite...and abandoning the bike to the tender mercies of the crew, so enabling me to reach the bar before the rest of the 'tards work it all out..happy days...:beerjug:

OOh fuck, never thought of that, some brainless twat 'tying' down my bike....

Think i'll take the tunnel & meet you on the other side......

Girl...tying yer own 'bike eats into drinking time....."man up"... Give the ol Gallic shrug of the shoulders..and leave it to the crew....:D

The Brittany ferry boys are great with bikes no worries!!

Not like the Norfolkline ferry then?

Got into a big row on that boat once, they asked me to leave the boat! The thick cnut tied down my GSA and the metal bits on the straps were rubbing against the painted frame. When i attempted to re-do the straps the idiot shouted at me to leave them alone, then it kicked off............

Just my 2ps worth

Portsmouth would be my prefered choice also.

The WW2 sites all sound good too.

happy to go with the flow whatever happens mind..:thumb

Are there any firm dates yet? :beerjug:
