Guys,

I am looking into getting away for 2 or 3 weeks in the spring as my job means I have to be in London for the event that is the olympics. I want to ride south and east for a couple of weeks with a mix of tracks and small road then ping back on quicker roads. Any one else intersted? I am thinking tuscanny and rome at least. But completely open mined

easy..

stuff an ironing board down ditchi's bike jacket to stiffen up his back, and you both could come.
Were not doing off road, tarmac and smooth stuff where poss,so would be ok for paul

Paul, definitely yes for a Morocco trip, it's a great ride.
Keith, just to let you know, it's a cheap as chips over there (£10-£20 per night for hotels) and the camping's even cheaper, especially the wild camping. Definitely a great place for a bike trip

Thx for the re-assurance Jacko....I'll need to do some investigating, cos I know there are a couple of organised trips via companies....lots to think about & consider...:D:D
 
as its a highly un-organized trip

you can always come across with us lot, have a play in the sand, and meet up for a beer at sunset, i'm sure we can hatch a plan as we go.
two teams ....sand and no sand
 
Spring- Morocco

This is sounding like it could be a good trip. If I've missed the posting, apologies, but are there any firm dates yet?

Were having a meeting round mine on the weds after chrimbo, to thrash it out.
Onlly 3 things decided, we all want to buy a Fes, and have a cooked brekky on the boat, and were riding thru france and not going on the bilbao boat.

I'm available from the mon23rd april to sun 6th may , which also leaves bank holiday monday in case of cock ups.
Ive yet to get this leave sorted from work, and there will be an awful lot of arm twisting goin on.
You can do a ten day trip or 2 weeks or somewhere in between, bearing in mind accomodation in morocco is cheaper than europe.
Europe will prob be formule 1 click here,.
There ok , clean and tidy bed and a shower thats it.but about 30 euros for 3 beds.
I'm on a budget, so you wont see me in the ritz..
Spanish hotels we sometimes use ibis, but to keep the costs down, just share a room.
we can do the millau bridge, reims, and some places on the way back or even there.
Budget for about 100 euros a day, fuel, food, and somewhere to sleep.
You are gonna need some kind of breakdown cover for europe with re-patriation is a plus, with morocco were on our own.There is a bit on the morrocoo sect about that.
i would recommend you have travel insurance and dont forget to sort your euro health card here you shouldnt have to pay a penny to sort it , its free.Some companies try and charge you, its free, that link should work ok.
Green card insurance is required or we can buy it there, ive yet to sus that.
So make sure your bike is tip top before kick off
.Dont leave home with 2mm of tread on your tyres.
I'll get some ferry prices, dover calais.
edit just went p and o £48 return 07.35 out on mon 23rd return 6th may 20.35
anyone got a discount code?
I'm not going to book your ferry etc, i'll just give you the sailing number so we can be together.

have a lot on my mind at the moment but this could be an answer to a lot of it. Cost for the trip total ?
 
costs

Prob 100 euros day in europe, £50 for a ferry.hopefully around 70 quids worth of dingbats a day in morocco.
depends how long you want to go for.
I'm kinda thinking of taking the hiss and goin for the 2 weeks, making hay whilst the sun shines.
Makes kinda sense, the ferry is fixed,and its only an extra couple hundred quid for 3 extra days.:bounce1
