I have the esa suspension on my 2011 tc gsa .is it possible to preload the bottom setting/ start point for the spring preload on the esa set up .

Not in its normal function, no. Or at least that I’m aware of. The ESA shocks have 3 preload positions, set at 5%, 50% and 90% of the preload range. These setting are calculated by performing a shock calibration.

So unless there’s a way of getting into the electronics to reset the 5% to say 25% then not. Or there may be a mechanical way of of adding some height to the shocks - like a 1” raiser block or something. Or an aftermarket shock of slightly longer length - Wilbers maybe. But I’ve never seen anything like this advertised.

Tractive (was White Power) in the Netherlands if they are still going are the people to talk to as they developed the ESA for this era of BMW. .

Just wondering as I have the Wilbers esa set up ,not quite the plush ride I was expecting .

I have the lowered Wilbers ESA Shocks on my 2012 TC GS .
There came a time when I had to increase the preload by machining and fitting a 7mm spacer under the spring.
After having them rebuilt and re-gassed by Dens0 of this parish the spacer was no longer needed.
I find the damping settings more noticeable than the originals and tend to use it on comfort when solo and normal when with pillion, sport is way too harsh.
If you need them altering contact Dens0 on this site ( T-Tech suspension ).
