Squires in winter?

We always pop in for breakfast on the way to the Thistle Rally in Scotland in feburary its great the look on some of the peoples face where a hand full of fully loaded GS's and a couple of sportsbikes roll in crapped up to the max.

Monday night squires

Just to let you all know that Squires was shut last monday evening:(:nenau-was not impressed as was looking forward to a mug of their lovely, cheap coffee:beer::eek:

Nice meeting you Spot.
I thought more might have turned up. I'll be there if the buggers haven't salted the roads :spitfire

Interested in doing that one, have you got any contact details for the organiser by any chance?

Cheers

Anyone going tomorrow then? A nice bit of sleet is forecast:)

Don't think I'm going to make it this time. I don't do washing/cleaning very well and my pride and joy will hate being sat in the garage covered in salty crap :hide

There were only four of us there and only two bikes. Still got some excellent advice and technical help, though. Shame on all you dry road riders!

I was wondering if any one would turn up last night, :bow I was doing a delivery to one of our garages at Rawdon in Leeds just around midnight and the temp was down to 4.deg, Hope to make the next one in December if I can get finished from work in time:thumb

Stay lucky ullygully;)

Someone let me know if the landlord lights trhe fire, makes a decent cup of tea or even smiles! Until then im staying away. If things dont improve i will be looking for an alternative venue. The old guy who seems to have retired was a good old biker. If it was cold or raining there was always a warm welcome and a bit of sympathy but this miserable sod who is running it now hasent a clue. Just because squires has a name as a bikers caf he expects us to turn up , part with our money and be treated like shit in return. No thanks.

Talking to my nephew last week-end, he said it is under new ownership but the old owners seem to be stopping on to run the place :nenau

Yes, it is under new management.Harry (the previous owner) pops in from time to time but it is his Son,Jason, that has stayed on a 12month contract to help run the place while the new owners get to grips on running the place.
Have a word with him,he is a great bloke to talk to,im sure he will listen to any ideas/gripes and pass them on.

I definately prefer Sherburn during the winter months when its quieter. Little LG asked if we could take a ride through Sunday gone. It was bloody cold, but he insisted, so after wrapping him up in 3 jumpers, a coat and 2 blankets we had an enjoyable ride out (he even fell asleep in the sidecar on the way back )

The fire was lit too Spot!
