I have to go to Luxembourg for work and am trying to see which route would be a better ride. I can come across to the UK (from Guernsey) get the bike serviced then travel from the UK, or... leave from St Malo, and ride up to Luxembourg that way.

Has anyone got any route suggestions? After work I am going to spend 4 or 5 days riding before I come back and have not planned anything in particular yet.

Thank you

I used to come from Jersey (the better Channel Island) ;) to Holland and the route I took was always most agreeable.

St Malo, Caen, Rouen, Amiens then head due East towards Luxembourg. Some nice roads depending on how much time you have. Best is to stick to the 'Route National' because it's free, no peages , and more interesting roads anyway. You can do the same route pretty much on motorway but it's like any motorway - faster but boring. Being as how you are probably unused to anything above 40mph ;) you may like to blast along the autorroutes but the Route Nationals are recommended.

Thanks for that Gecko, as per usual bigger, as in Jersey, is not always better!! I have been here for a few years now and love it other than the hassle when trying to get off the rock.

Will look at the routes, desperately trying to avoid any no peages and motorways, will let you know how it goes.

I was in Lux for 2 weeks in 1999. Its a great place. Food and drink were (then anyway) cheap cheap cheap. You should take a trip to Vianden...great village.

Cheers
