After much research and head scratching I have narrowed it down to these two, almost identical on price, and almost identical specs.

The ARD cases use Touratech frames which is good if I ever want to change, while Stahlkoffers use a bespoke frame.

ARD have internal release for the panniers while the Koffers have smooth internal walls and a simple external release system.

A mate has just bought a second hand set of Koffers and he is very impressed and I'll see them on his bike in a couple of weeks, but ARD are only 30 minutes from my office!

Decisions, decisions!

Give me a hand guys, post photos if you have them or give me feedback.

I have been very pleased with my ARD Cases, if I was buying them again, i might discuss catch options with Roger and ask for a leash so that if you forget to lock them on they don't get thrown from the bike. Ive done it twice, only a few scratches and very annoyed with myself.

Theres a lot to be said for good local suppliers, use them or lose them. ARD cases are a great product.

I have ARD cases they are fine if they are the cheapest option, but if the opposition had a smooth interior as opposed to intruding catches and pop rivets, I with hind sight would go for that.

Love my Ard cases. No need for a leash on mine! Be nice if the inside was smooth, but not a deal breaker. Brill value and service from Roger. Support your locals

Another vote for Ard cases and he made me a auxiliary fuel tank as well.

And another.

Six years and well over fifty thousand miles later and they are still great.

ARD Cases rule! And Roger is a nice guy to deal with too and his wife makes good cakes:)

Thanks everyone for the feedback, went to visit Roger, what a nice bloke! I've ordered a Touratech frame and a pair of his panniers with an oil bottle carrier.

Hope to have them made and fitted next month.

Cheers
