hi folks

i fitted a y-piece to my yr 2000 1150gs 600 miles ago and now she wont hold her idle speed when stationary or on start up.

i have checked the throttle cable and it is seated correctly, i have re-set the throttle positions to no avail. i have still got the ccp fitted throughout for the 600 miles. i tried the alternative ccp configuration and that doesnt work. i've had the standard end can fitted through out for the 600 miles. to me it seems like an air / fuel mixture issue though why it has appeared after 600 miles of fault free running i dont know. i have not found any air leaks in the y-piece or exhaust can connection points. the 'roughness' clears when the throttle is applied only for it to backfire and get clogged up when idle.

any ideas what to try to solve this?

thanks

just to clarify what do you mean by re-set the throttle positions ?

1. Throw away the CCP
2. Set the TPS to 0.37 - 0.39v
3. Pull fuse 5 out and count to ten.
4. Replace fuse 5, turn ignition on and open throttle fully three times to calibrate TPS.
5. Start motor and enjoy.
