Stanchions - BMW or copies?

I have to replace my 1150GS fork stanchions due to corrosion. Original BMW ones are listed at £191 each at Motorworks, but copies can be had for £101.

Is anyone using the copies? I imagine they might not last as long but otherwise are a good bet?

Why wouldn't they last as long - A plated metal tube is a plated metal tube no matter who supplies it.

I can do you stanchions for £75 - not italian copies, good british made items.

I put the british made ones on my suzuki gsx600 they were as good as !
if i needed some for my gs I wouldnt hesitate to get them again.
I didnt see any difference in quality or ride afterwards.

i had to replace a stanchion on my 2003 GSA 2 years back and used a British copy and you cant tell the difference from the original BMW one
