Simple question, which one and why? Need achieve bike to bike.

:)

Much of a muchness.

The Starcom seems to come with leads that are 3,000 miles long and plugs that are tinier than an tiny thing....the Autocom is a bigger box.....

I have an Autocom, a friend has a Sratcom; they both seem to work. It's that simple.

Cool thanks :)

I have an Autocom (have had several). I think they are really good units. I don't know anything about the Starcom, so I can't comment. The Autocom is manufactured in the UK which makes a nice change :clap, and the company offers fantastic service. When you ring them, the 'phone is answered by a real person :bounce1. They are happy to take the time and trouble to answer any queries you have :thumb2

Ditto what he says about the Autocom service.....There again Starcom were v helpful at the London m/c show. So I guess it's still a toss up.

Try Bahr!

You can get a unit that has the transceiver (walkie talkie thing) built in. BUT it can't do rider to pillion, just bike to bike. You can plug your MP3 and GPS stuff into it.

CAPO 3 and I know a man on here that is selling one

A mate went from Autocom to Starcom after visiting the NEC a couple of years ago. He said, 'they are both very good', the only probs he had with the Starcom was he kept bending the pins when connecting the male/female ends together, as they seem to be much thinner than the Autocom units.:thumb2

I've had the Autocom fitted to my Trumpy Sprint ST for the last 18 months.
I can't recommend it highly enuff.
Took a bit of faffing about to get he sensitivity of the Mic's sorted at first.
But they work really well. Can have clear conversation with the wife up to about 100mph, and it works a treat with the I-pod plugged in.

Gettin it changed over to the GS when it arrives as got some big runs planned now.

Never tried the system bike to bike but have a friend back home who has it set up bike to bike & he raves about it.

And as others have said the Autocom looks a bit more robust.

Cheers all, now got 2x Autocoms and radios so me and the other half can chat........ Just remind me why a got them? :blast

That way you got one!

So do mine. A big plain in the butt. Spoken to Starcom about this many times, asking for big plugs for big boys
However the starcom unit is much smaller and works very well.

That friend would be me. I have posted elsewhere re the Starcom system (fitting to a Shoei Multitech) but do have reservations about the quality and sturdiness of the plugs and wires. Wapping's Autocom seems to be of a more robust build quality IMHO.

My autocom has never missed a beat....

...either on my GS or the GSA I have now - never used Starcom so cant comment, but autocom will do the job.:)

Iv,e had two Autocoms and quite frankly thought they where more trouble than they where worth. Trouble getting the "Vox" setting right. No Volume control (on the models we had). Ear pieces hurt like hell in my Shoei and where a bugger to fit making a mess of a £200 pound Helmet. Constant requests from her behind to "say again". No, not for me. We reverted to the tap on the shoulder system.
Mike Tee.

I have a Starcom fitted to my bike and one fitted to Mrs Flips Transalp.

No bent pins, works well rider to pillion, Rider to Rider depends on Radio quality more than Intercom quality. Works well with motorola radios but only within 1/2 mile radius.

Autocom looks good but unit was too big and too expensive compared to the starcom.
