Hi.

How can you get rid of all these icons that you have to wait for in the bottom corner of your screen.
Some i know like Firwall etc need to be there but there has become so much crap there that although i need it i do not need it to be started when i enter my screen i would rather click on it in documents or whatever when i need it.

I have right clicked some but there is no option to remove from start up?
Its now taking ages for these to start up before i can get anywhere near the internet.

Advice would be needed

Thanks in advance:beerjug:

BANGER.

I'm not 100% sure you can get rid of them for good. Some may be shortcuts to programmes but I DO KNOW if you right click anywhere on TaskBar, click on Properties you should get the option to "Hide inactive icons". That may help you.

Of course all this assumes you are using XP as I am.!!

HTH

Hit Start
Run
Type in the box msconfig
Select startup tab
Deselect only those you don't want to run on startup (ie with location of common startup if you use XP)
The system will then tell you it will reboot for the changes to take effect.

Hope it helps

What them two said.

If you stop a programme running you may need to be run, be careful.i.e. any anti virus or firewall prog.

Other than that I guess it's okay. Okay, yes their ways is the best, okay I said it, so there.
