Hi, when i first rebuilt the engine it started first prod,

I know it's a bit colder now but how quickly should it start, sometimes it takes 4 or 5 goes now, any ideas.

sounds like a temperature sender might be disconnected.

That sounds promising cookie as i have just fitted the plastic cover over the secondary HT lead, there was a wire with a plug along side, if that's it i could have disturbed it. it does give the impression it needs choke. cheers.

Hmm, what the f****s a lambda sensor, sounds interesting.
The sensor that measure the oxygen content(?) in the exhaust gases. Screws into the front of the CAT :)

edit: C&P from the etherweb -
"The exhaust gas oxygen sensor (EGO or O2), or lambda sensor, is the key sensor in the engine fuel control feedback loop. The computer uses the O2 sensor's input to balance the fuel mixture, leaning the mixture when the sensor reads rich and richening the mixture when the sensor reads lean."

Hi

I have a 1200GSA adventure; Yes I sometimes have a problem starting first time in the morning. I leave my bike in the garage connected to a BMW charger and still get this problem I believe it is something to do with the gel battery ?

Cheers

My GSA12 has been firing up slowly on these cold mornings, no problem on turning the engine over - battery fine, it takes a while for both cylinders to fire up , irritating, not critical............. Strange though as the GS12 would fire up on the button, whatever the temperature ....

Thanks lads, that makes me feel a bit better, i just thought i should catch instantly like it did the first time,

It always fires just doesn't catch, it's like it wants a bit of choke, if you try to open the throttle straight away it dies, if you wait 15-30 secs it's fine.
