Hi all,

I've been doing some work on the bike and had some issues starting it when I had it all back together.

Symptons are:
1st couple of start attempts, engine turns but doesn't start
2nd couple of attempts engine turns and starts but stalls on any throttle
3rd couple of attempts engine starts, almost stalls on throttle then pops and runs as normal.

Once the engine is warm, it starts with no issues.

The work I did involved having the tank off while I debugged some electrica issues. I had attempted to remove the battery cage but gave up because of a rusted bolt.

Bike was starting fine before I had the tabk off and yes I checked the throttle bottle adjustment screw things :D

So, any ideas what I'ved screwed up?

Bike is a 2001 850r.

Cheers

Matt

Problem solved, had the tank off again and found a connector (ones of those 2 pin jobbies with the spring clip) was loose. Looks like I hadn't pushed it shut properly and it popped open (maybe when dropping the bike of the centre stand).

'Doh' moment strikes again :D

Cheers

Matt
