starting problem

Bike sat outside last night. It usually sits in the garage. Switched on and all Lights were there, but when I pressed starter button the engine didn't turn. After about 10 presses it turned over and fired up instantly as normal. Now I try it again it won't fire. I guess the problem must be the starter button? Is there a way of starting it without pressing the button as I have power?

Short the solenoid wire to the starter feed.

After putting the side stand up and down a few times it is working fine now so I assume the cut-out switch was sticking. I was a bit concerned as I was in Cardiff, 200 miles from home. What a lovely ride home it was. A perfect biking day (with a heated jacket!)
