Sorry - I've had a search around and can't find anything.

Does anyone do any kind of stealth number plate holder for an 1150GSA? I've decided I've contributed enough to the small knobbed saddos that sit giggling in their little vans behind bushes and up side roads and I want to do something about it. Don't care if it's legal, I just want something to make their life harder, or preferably, impossible.

Why not just slow down for the cameras:nenau We all get plenty of warning when we are entering a camera zone and we all get to know where our local cameras are sited so why not save your more spirited riding for roads that aren't infested with the talevan? Kitting your bike out with something that is illegal is asking for trouble and the police will find ways of identifying you and the bike and you may find yourself facing a charge of perverting the course of justice.

They don't work and you'll get nicked so just slow down for cameras.

I'm not talking about static cameras - obviously I slow down for them. I'm talking about the mobile traps. Yes I know they're SUPPOSED to sign then too, but I went through one the other day where they had put the temporary sign in some very long grass on the side of a roundabout and it could not be seen easily. I've also seen traps when vans are out of sight down adjoining side roads and often when they're taking speeds from the opposing side of the road through fast crossing traffic. I'm talking about the traps where they an get you half a mile down the road past the van. As for illegal, well a lot of the crossers and such like on the road have their plates mounted nearly horizontal on the rear mudguard so I suspect that isn't such a bug issue.

If you do 30k a year on a bike then you're going to meet a lot of these misery makers.

Thanks anyway

snap your number plate of leave say the top corner attached to the bike put the rest of the plate in your top box / panniers:thumb2 if stoped tell some twat vandalised it when you parked up, much better than a small number plate and not illegal as you ll only get a talking to or at worse a producer:augie

That's more the spirit:) I'm thinking a carefully positioned big thick lock hanging down over the plate at the moment... whoops ... didn't notice it had done that

Speeding

There are worst things than covert camaras, in Canada lst year I got caught by up front radar. The cops car came over a rise in the road in the opposite direction quite a long way ahead as soon as it appeared the lights started
flashing and that was it About £50.00!. Out in the middle of BC miles from anywhere got caught doing 120 KPH in a 90 zone. These things are lethal how long before they appear over here?.

Baby on board sunction mounted sign over the plate?:blast

I had an awful problem with my plate. For some reason, two of the three bolts fell out through vigourous riding. Tax disc was also attached to the remaining bolt. Damn number plate kept slipping as did the tax disc. Couldn't read the plate at all:augie

You may like to look at something like the 'SpeedFlip' Number plate which is pretty neat, but remember if you were to go down that road that the Safety:rolleyes: camera teams and Police will keep a copy of any photos, and if you use the device regularly their are other ways to identify a vehicle.
