Ordered a Stebel horn (the 136DB one) from NippyNormans. It arrived today, I get home, take off the old one and...

Oh. No spade connectors. Search the forums and find mention that I might need a relay too (one didn't come with it).

So, before I cut into the expensive BMW wiring, can I wire it up directly to the 1200GS' two horn wires or do I need this relay? And if so, where do I get one?

Cheers,
Gavin.

The 136dB one is the small one, the Stebel Magnum. To fit this you have to cut off the BMW connector and crimp & solder the spade connectors on in its place. No relays are required.

Just be careful how you locate the horn to avoid fouling the forks or rubbing the brake hoses.

Its a fekkin loud horn....enjoy:D

Excellent. Job done. New horn fitted and working. Ta for your help.

Cheers,
Gavin.

Oh, and don't mount the open 'trumpet' facing forwards and slightly up. It will fill with water during the next downpour you ride through.

The next day, when you go to use the horn you will be presented by a very :ymca beep followed by a face full of water as the collection from the previous days downpour is blown up behind the screen....................

.............don't ask me how I know
