I've just tried wiring in a stebel magnum horn to my 94 r1100gs using the stock wiring. Despite reading information to the contary, there doesn't seem to be enough power to drive the horn.

The horn works (tested by direct hook up to battery) so I'd like to try and increase the available power. Any recommendations as to how to go about this? (or dire warnings not to try it..)

Cheers

Sounds odd? I just bolted my Magnum in place of the stock item and connected the wires and away it went.

You need a relay. Take the trigger off the stock horn signal and wire the horn into the battery (using a fuse).

Use wire suitible for a few amps and it'll get all the power it needs.

You need a relay for the Nautilus, but not for the Magnum. As said, check the earth.

If all else fails, you can still always fit a relay, it's very little extra work.

Are the wires the right way round? If you wire it the wrong way round it sucks instead of blows, so it's a lot quieter.
