Iv,e had one of these on my Garage Shelf for a month now, having bought it from N.N. under the asumption that it was an Easy Fit affair. It isn,t. I have researched the various Threads on the subject and it all boils down to either cutting the Original Connecting Plug off the Wiring Loom (don,t want to do that) or destroying the Original Bosch Horn in order to "reclaim" the Female part of the connecting Plug (don,t want to do that either). Does anyone know if the Female part of the connecting Plug is available to buy (probably a Bosch Part). Or alternatively, what about using "Scotch Lok" type connectors to "splice" into the Loom leaving the plug intact for reversal later. This would leave the Wiring "relatively" intact.
Any advice appreciated. Mike Tee
P.S. N.N. Never replied to my Wiring Queries or as to why my Horn Kit was minus one Spade Connector.

Mike

I have the magnum and scotch locked it into the live and earth just before the female connector of the original horn. I still have the original horn in place too, I simply turned it round 180 degrees (so its now pointing up into the headstock) and bolted the magnum into place pointing down. No problem and very simple!

I used to have the nautilus, which was more complicated (relay and bespoke bracket involved) but the bracket I made for it broke. Landed up giving it to my brother for use in his Rangie instead!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply "L", Iv,e just noticed that the Wiring Diagram which comes with the Stebel Horn shows an in line 20amp fuse and also mentions "Hor" lead to Horn Button and Ground Lead to Horn Button which I find confusing. Also the terminals on the Stebel Horn are not identified Positive and Negative. You say that you Scotch locked into the live and earth before the Female connector, should this be the Male connector on the Wiring Loom?. Also any idea what gauge of wire is to be used between the Scotch locks and the Stebel Horn.
Many Thanks
Mike Tee

:eek:Use a relay. Wire direct to the battery with an in line 20amp fuse if you are not using an auxillary fuse box. Use the original horn wiring as the trigger circuit. IT WILL be louder than if you wire it to the original wiring. AND dont press the switch with your head under the beak.
