I recently fitted a Stebel Magnum from Nippy Norman (excellent dealer). The magnum is larger than the original and there's only about 10mm clearance from the front brake hose. Does anyone have any experience of problems with the magnum catching the brake hose once the suspension is moving?

I've achieved a similar clearance and have seen no problems to date (1000miles with horn attached)

The brack line makes contact with the horn at full lock in one direction only. As the bike is rarely on full lock, this doesn't give me cause for concern.

Thanks for the reply GSm. The thing I'm concerned about is that the brake hose runs under the magnum, with only 10mm clearance at stand still, no load. As the front suspension is compressed the gap closes, so as I sit on the bike the gap closes to about 5mm.

I'm concerned that as the bike is riden the loading of the front suspension will cause the magnum to press down on the brake hose. Any ideas?

I bought the Stebel Magnum but have not fitted it yet. Today I had a quick look at how to fit and it does seem like it's going to hit the front brake hose when the suspension compresses but can't say for sure until I fit it. Might need to use brackets to relocate the horn slightly up and forward but I guess the odd contact isn't going to chafe the bike much.

fitted a stebel magnum horn too-i'll certainly be heard now!!
It is a tricky mounting position because of its larger size in comparison to the original but all you have to do is bend the accompanying metal plates to suit the clearances,it should clear any hoses etc ;)
