Steering Bearing Replacement

I've just replaced the steering bearing in the top yolk of my 1150. When torquing it up to the recommended level, the steering is locked in one postion and it takes a hell of a shove to turn the bars. Anyone any ideas of where I have gone wrong?

Have you replaced the small spacer ring,


it's easy to forget to put it back

I don't recall seeing one Neil, but I'll have a look in the garage to see. Its been about 4 weeks since I took the front end off, so I could have taken it off and forgotten about it.
