The bloody thing is falling apart.........the steering lock appears to have 'stopped working' ?!?!
2010 GSA 30th Anniversary. Got back on it this morning (last rode Thursday - worked from home Friday) - when I got to work (36miles) put it on centre stand - handlebars to the right - wouldnt lock the handlebars. Tried it a couple of times - gentle like, then tried to the LHS and 'nothing'.
Thought it was a bit strange but was late so left it. Its left in a secure car-park in Slough, under cover with cameras and a reasonable foot-fall but I guess quiet during the day. Having said that there are a number of people moving between buildings (via cars) so there's probably someone in the car park at any one time. Rode back to Thame, parked up to nip in for a birthday supper with good lady wife and son - wouldnt lock again. Bit less 'easy' about leaving it on the high-street without chain and steering lock but simply wouldnt lock at all.
Got back home - had a good go at it again (gently again) and it simply won't engage at all.
Now...the suspicious person in me is telling me that some thieving wanker has had a go at it - broken the steering lock and is waiting to come and nick it at cock o'clock one night..........so I've chained the bastard up for the first time in 12years I've lived here ! (out in the sticks a bit and set back from road 50m or so).
Do steering locks just 'fail' like that ? I suppose the leaking front shock is a complete coincidence ? Or - have I hit a massive pot-hole thats done it for both of them ? I really dont remember that and I'm ultra careful at the moment with the roads being complete shite.
.....if my security light has 'failed' tonight.......it'll be a night-watchman job - shotgun on one side, rifle on the other........
I did have some pikey wander up the drive Sunday afternoon having a good look around before stuffing a crappie flyer through the door about 'logs'......[tip to pikeys - if you are going to make a flyer and photocopy it - at least take the time to cut out the copies straight........rather than making it look like some 4yr old's afternoon cutting lesson....]
Thoughts ?
PS - Any firearms officers reading - the comment about shotgun and rifle are for 'amusement' only.........I'd use a screwdriver....
