Steptoe's ccp mod

Hi all,

I'm going to change the exhaust on my 1100 and plan to put a remus revolution. I've read that Steptoe's mod is reccomended for this setup.

The question is, does the motronic read the lambda sensor with that mod? Or should I just plug the hole and go on?

I believe the mod doesn't work on the 1100. and isn't always effective on the 1150 either. sometime it improves performance sometimes it doesn't.

Do all 1100's have a lambada sensor? Or just those with real cats between the headers / sliencer, and UK ones only having a collector box, even if it looks very similar to the cat?

steptoe has said on various occasions that the CCP mod doesn't work on the 1100. I'm sure he will confirm this when he sees this thread.

My 97 has a co pot and no lambda sensor, I read a thread on ADV where they were removing the sensor and retrofitting the pot, I tried mine without the (beige) ccp when I fitted my Laser pipe but ended up replacing the ccp and using a co meter to set the mixture (it was way rich)
It currently runs very nicely but I think I have lost some economy, I may try it with the stock pipe and set it up again.

stewart i,m currently running my 1100gs with no ccp(beige ccp bike was surging),i,ve tweeked the co2 pot today and although its a rough guess(plugs look ok)bike runs great and i,d rather have a decent sounding throaty exhaust even if i do loose a few mpg

So, you're running with the beige ccp (that's Steptoe's mod) and a co pot, right? That means open loop.

Please read this page, it talks about 1100s and there is a 30-87a plug, the beige one. Isn't that your mod Steptoe?

For fecks sake - i've never said use the link on an 1100, they use a different system to an 1150 . There's not much you can do on an 1100 system.

ok!!! It's been clear as mud to me!!!

If there isn't much I can do, then I'll keep the current setting with the lambda probe.

i use a techlusion box on the 1100 - used on here from about 40 poonds.

same model for 1100 and 1150 - as email answer from techlusion

works well, no guessing

I would too but it has a broken diaphragm and sounds like tin at idle .

Tried to repair it (cut it open) and now it looks like

im betting you cut it to remove the guts to make it sound louder and the jobs gone tits up......


just keep looking for a second hand standard one, theres a few about, but as your in greece it could hit you on postage, still better that than not riding

Sir, you just lost your bet.

It went tits up on a trip to Athens and got progressively worse.

Already ordered the remus.

Found some used ones, but preferred a new one....hope it goes well.

The funny part is that everywhere is asked for a used one, they asked if I had a broken diaphragm............
Is it something frequent???
I would expect an inox exhaust like that to last forever
