just replaced my L/H/S Stick coil - OMG!

what a difference, its like riding a new bike, much smoother with lots more power, wish i'd done it sooner :blast (i am still learning to be fair)

best £65 i've ever spent :augie

really??
Interesting that - my LHS one looks shocking with corrosion etc but the bike really does seem ok. Were you having any really noticeable issues that made you investigate and change it?

Changed both mine after the bike wouldnt hold revs in 6th and would struggle to get over 5200 resulting in dropping back to 5th to get it over that then a little while in 6th before dropping back down again (repeat ad nauseum) :blast

Gets really boring on a 2 up trip to Norfolk from Glasgow

Once changed nice and smooth with a good smooth rev range

sorry for delay in coming back to you,

i was just getting very occasional cut outs when cold and stopped at lights etc, sometimes the accelaration was a little hesitant when pulling on to a motorway etc and there was corrosion on the coil itself, which may have been worse inside it that you cant see with the naked eye

the bike just feels smoother, more powerful and the idle is just solid with no wavering at all - it just feels bang on and before it didn't

im honestly not kidding myself, there is a marked improvement in accelaration too :bounce1

ah haaa - my idle is starting to wander too....:blast

these bikes...

...are bit agricultural which is why we love them so much, when everything is up to temp all is fine - i just think with something as important as ignition £68 will give you proper peice of mind, and in my case, what feels like another 5 mph..! :augie

Simple enough to test the main coil caps.

Just pull of the lower secondary plug caps and see how it runs on just the main plugs = one side, not at all or no problem..

cheers steptoe - both secondaries off at the same time? Or is it ok to have one unplugged at a time?

Bigyin,
5,200rpm in 6th for me is about 103mph.

Tut tut

Can't find the wag finger smiley so I'll use this: :thumb

Just about normal cruising speed for 2 up and full luggage then :)

tbh its the only time i really miss my 165 mph rocketship sports bike but remind myself part of the reason for buying the GS was to slow me down from imprisonable speeds and 2 up comfort for me and the missus ;)
