Sticking Ignition switch ~

The Ignition switch on my 55k mile GSA is getting sticky between positions as I turn the key... Is this likely to indicate incipient failure..? Don't fancy getting stuck in the back of beyond... How big a job is it to change the switch..? Thanks for any info

Just fill it up with wd40 and that should fix it

Aye. Can't comment on the switch but after my recent trek to Scotland all 4 padlocks refused to open as they were bound up with salt etc.

I just filled each one with wd40 left overnight now work like a treat.

I've squirted WD40 (well, Asda maintenance spray really) into the lock 'till it ran out clear... and it seems to have improved... I'm still worried it'll seize up though

I'd be inclined to clean it with WD40, but to then spray a silicone based lubricant into it. WD attracts dust and crap, it seems that the silicone sprays are better suited to ignition switches.

Actually, I cleaned my Yamaha ignition switch with brake cleaner, then used the silicone spray.
