Sticking switches

The introduction of the new switchgear in 2009 gave BMW quite a bit of a headache. I discussed the issue with my dealer, and by 2012 there were up to version 7.

Seems like the problem was sorted by 2014. The LIN-bus switches (as for the 1200LC) seems to be fairly problem-free.
At least, the ones I know of, the problems stopped by 2014. By then BMW had changed switchgear on my bikes 5 times.
Most of my friends driving GS are now into the LC, and none have had a switchgear problem.

Mine’s an April 2014 build and had the right hand switchgear changed under recall (it worked fine at the time) and then it had a defective left hand indicator switch last week

2013 GS LC with sticking rocker switch that was driving me mad. Did all the lube things etc to no avail until the penny dropped. The switch was fouling on the black surround and not able to return to its rest position. A few minutes with a scalpel talking tiny slivers at a time returned the switch to normal function.
Shame to have to resort to that on such an expensive bike but it works fine now.
