Or have they gone out of fashion? Do I buy new or get an ebay "bargain"?
I was looking at some Daytona Traveller GTX boots for a little bit more via D and the tinternet :thumb

Yeah got mine years ago and still going strong. Only failure is the velcro on the top but no big deal. I like the external steel toe caps too !!

:beerjug:

look nice - leak like sieves. not in the same league as the daytonas.

wore my couriers last week. this week i wore my daytonas (it was raining).

I have both Couriers and Daytonas' (Albeit Roadstar GTX)

There is absolutely no comparison between the two, the Daytona's although more expensive are superior in every way and worth every extra penny!!

Love my Couriers but when they finally give out I'll go for the Sidi Adventure - my mate has some and they are cracking and 100% waterproof with their Goretex lining. Mine are water resistant, and a full day of rain will wet my feet. My mate will be in toasty dry heaven.

cheers

Markie

Yep

Still wearing my sidi couriers. I ride in all weathers and whilst they may not be the warmest boot out there they have never leaked.

I have taken the steel toe ends off as I found them annoying when walking and a bit slippy when putting feet down at lights etc.

In fairness, mine used to leak moderately- I kept them lathered up in nikwax or some similar monkeyspunk, but they were so comfortable that I used to tolerate it.....often adding a pair of army surplus goretex knee length socks (a tenner from the AS place) on a longer trip or for fording.

The SIDI combat touring (they should have added 'stealth ninja' to tick ALL of the boxes ) seems to be THE boot on Advrider, and it does look rather nice, but I can't justify the price :(

i found supermarket freezer bags worked a treat, better than the bulky sealskin socks i had that kept my feet dry, but got soaked on the outside so felt wet anyway.
