Woke up on this fine sunny Sunday morning to find some ****ard had stolen my bike from my front garden in NW London, sadly my wonderful 2010 Adventure 30th Anniversary is gone...

If anybody (however unlikely this is, it is sure as hell worth trying) hears anything about a 'cheap' bike as such for sale any info would obviously be well appreciated.

Extras on the bike included a remus carbon hexacone exhaust, Givi E55 Maxia case and Touratech screen spoiler...

Here's hoping...Tim

I hate to say it but bmw bikes are like land rovers, desireable and high value, easy to nick and worth quite a few quid in bits or a lot more as a whole abroad where thery don't really care about where it's come from.

Really sorry for your loss chap.

Do you have many breakers near you or with a decent travelling distance, worth calling around for bits from a 30th in a few weeks if you've still not found it.

Stuntman :tears

Bummer.

Having had my GSA stolen from W London 2 yrs ago, and it being written off quickly by my insurer, I fear you won't be seeing yours again.

Its probably already in bits or has a new identity and decoded ECU. Either way, across the pond by now too.

Hope you manage to get a satisfactory outcome from your insurer.

Gutted for you, sending bad Karma to the thieves....

That sucks, really sorry for you. I hope you get it back.

Just discovered some thieving pikey scum have screwdrivered the wifes black jack logos off her mini whilst she was working late in the hospital at Southampton (Scummer Bast@rds). Only about £60 to replace them.

I was very angry but your loss makes mine sound pathetic in comparison.

Sorry for your loss man that,s a real pisser :comfort
Just know that you are better than them,, What goes round comes round:thumb2

Thanks for the kind comments, its my fourth GS and was definitely my favourite...the guard dog's going as he slept through the whole thing, bloody mutt...albeit he did bark the last time they tried to steal it so I'll probably have to forgive him...

I doubt i'll get it back or any bit of it for that matter, but i'll watch out on eBay...

Interestingly police came around within an hour (impressive) and said that big bikes are being used for smash and grab...so watch out in the local press as clearly someones found a new use for GS's...

There is one positive take on this (i'm really trying to be positive) in that the new GS is arriving very soon (although its not the adventure) and i'm sure the insurance company will see it as a like for like swap...here'e hoping...Tim

So sorry to hear of your lose, it,s made me mad and it,s not my bike, I would shoot the scum, that way they don,t re affend.

How's this for blatent.
Large flat bed truck with HIAB turn up and lifts a twin axle caravan over a fence and onto the truck bed. They even knocked next door to say they had come to take the caravan for servicing!

The same trick would work with a bike and heavy duty locks and dont slow them down very much.

Thats a bastard I would hate it if someone nicked my GSA i have the same bike and feel for you getting your steed nicked!

Sorry to hear of the loss of your GSA. I thought BMWs were low down the rankings for bike theft but it appears otherwise. I hope you get it back in one piece but to be brutally honest, I think it will probably be broken up and sold for parts.

To help the rest of us, what sort of security did you have - chains, anchors, bike covers etc.

What was it locked to?? how did they cut it free??

How is that going to help the OP trace his bike? :duno

It wont and anyway its probably in a container bound for Russia. But it will help others to know what the toe rags used to acquire the bike.

TBH, if it just had a chain wrapped around a wheel, they probably put the locked wheel on a skateboard and simply pushed it into a van.

After reading this thread of yet another stolen bike, got me thinking about an idea I come up with long ago but did nothing about. ( sorry for hijacking the thread but it is theft related)
I though about a device for locking the centre stand down in position. It would be quite difficult to move a bike with this fitted, what do you (general you) think?????

As above ...... lift bike ...... skateboard under stand ..... wheel bike away

This is perfect for the career professional but there are cheaper versions

Insurance companies like these but the saving in premiums will take a long while to pay off the cost

If its not (heavily) bolted down they'll turn up with a flat bed and HIAB crane.

These help with an F-off chain and padlock but nothing is impregnable.
