Stop N Go tyre Plugger?

I have a Stop'n Go kit on both bikes and have used them successfully three times now. However, the last puncture has blunted the reaming tool when getting through the steel belt - does anyone know where I can buy replacement reaming tools?

This is the kit I bought via Ebay

That´s Dave, the same guy who goes to Rimmington Barn.

I bought a kit when I had a nail in the back tyre of my Tiger......worked perfectly.

Top man.....no association etc etc

Stop N Go failure

In France a couple of weeks ago I picked up a rivet shank in the rear tyre, a Bridgestone 023, the first indication was from the TP warning flashing 1.9 Bar.

At a service area I extracted the Pop Rivet shank, roughened the hole edges and with some little difficulty inserted the tool tip and plugged the hole, pulled the little plug shaft back with pliers. Inflated with my newly acquired Ring compressor (an absolute boon over the next few days). On applying the spittle test I was disapointed to see I still had a very slow deflation. At this point it started to pour so I inflated to 2.8 Bar and rode on. We were 2up fully loaded.

Over the course of the next few days the leak worsened, I pushed the plug into the tyre and re-plugged. Still had the puncture. As the tyre was about half life I decided to purchase a new one, as the situation was taking the edge of my holiday. Got a new tyre at Digne-les-Baines, Pilot 2.

On inspection of the old 023 it was immediately obvious what the problem was, on the inside of the 023 there are ridges running transversely across the width of the tyre, about 3 inches apart and approx 2 mils high, my puncture was right against one othese ridges so the mushroom head was never going to bed down properly. Another type of plug would probably have been successful.

I relate the tale only to highlight that Stop n Go is not always the right tool for the job, probably better to carry a sticky type kit as well.;)
