For years now I've been using a Nav V with all my GSes without any issues. Using the Nav V to play my music, and answer and make calls via the Bikes TFT.
I usually pair my helmet comms (an SRL-01) with the bikes TFT display and with the Nav V, and pair my phone with the TFT.
Recently I bought a 1300GSA. Now, when I play music I get some weird issues. Sometimes I can start the music off and it plays with no problems until I stop the bike. However, more often than not, it will play one track then stop. Well it doesn't actually stop, if I look at the music player app on the Nav V it is continuously switching between pause and play, taking about 10 seconds to progress 1 or 2 seconds of the music track and there is no sound. Sometimes, it won't even play one track the fault appears immediately.
I did find that when I switch off the bike the music does start playing immediately. So this started to make me think it was something to do with the TFT, or it's software, or something else connected to the TFT, i.e. my mobile phone. Next time the fault occurred I tried disconnecting the Bluetooth connection from the phone to the TFT, the music started playing immediately.
This made me think it was the phone, so I dug out my old phone and tried that. The fault still occurred.
To rule out the Sat Nav I borrowed a friends Nav V. The fault did occur with this but not as often. I noted that the borrowed Nav V was a newer version than mine with more up to date firmware and hardware revisions, so this led me to wonder if maybe the Nav V wasn't compatible with the hardware/software on the newer bike.
So I borrowed a Nav VI to try. I still have more testing to do, but I thought this had cured it as I'd stopped and started the bike a few times and the music kept playing subsequent tracks, then just before I arrived home I noted the music had gone off. On checking the player app it was still playing (i.e. not pausing/playing continuously), but just not getting any sound from it. The minute I switched off the bike, the sound came on, so same fault, just different symptoms!
Everything is pointing to the hardware/software on the bike being the culprit but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this before I take it any further.
If I take the TFT out of the equation, i.e. pair both my helmet comms and my phone to the SatNav it all works fine, and I could live with this, but I prefer to have the phone through the TFT as it is easier to find contacts in the telephone directory using this method (for when I pull over to make a telephone call of course).
