I have a 09 gs with 26k miles on it and it has started to make a road speed related noise. It sounds like it could be a bearing or gear train sort of noise. The best way that I can describe it is that the noise is exactly the same droning noise as a military landrover makes on tarmac roads.
The noise is loud enough to be heard at 50 - 60 mph and is accompanied by a slight vibration felt through the foot rests and bars.
At first I thought the dreaded FD, but I have checked for any play, none apparent. Also no oil leaks what so ever. This afternoon I drained the FD oil and the gearbox oil. Both were very clean with no trace of metal in the oil or on the mag plugs.
There appears to be no play or wear in the front wheel bearings, and I have just fitted a new Tourance on the wheel as well.
The bike is running well and handeling is fine, it's just this really annoying noise and the feeling of doom that I have because of it.
Has anyone else experienced this or does any one have any ideas?
