Hi every one,
Im new here and have some issues with my 02 1150gsa which i want to ask advice on here before i get the sparkie involved.
This gs was unused in 3 years so it had a dead battery which i replaced .
IF i connect up the battery and switch on the ign key the fuel pump does not prime nor does the fuel guage or temp display work and nothing happens when the start button is pressed
IF i turn the ign key on and then connect the battery, she primes ,display lights and starts with the start button and runs fine.
IF i stop the engine with the red switch above the starter switch and and leave the key switched on the bike will start again.
If i switch the engine of with the key the pump does not prime again and bike will not start and the battery has to be disconnected and reconnected again to get the fuel pump to prime. Apologies if this is confusing but ive described it as best i can.
Second problem is the 2 abs lights are flashing alternatively all the time.
How do i know if she has servo assisted brakes?
Just asking these questions in case someone else had a similar electric problem .
Ps the bike also has an immobiliser.
Thanks in advance Mervyn

Maybe a sticking relay, try wiggling or gently tapping the relays when you turn the key on, even swap a couple over, perhaps worth checking the four way connector under the right side cover too.

Hi Merv, welcome matey.

Sounds like the immobilizer to me mate, what type is it? i think i'd get it ripped out if i were you, even if it does sort itself out, who's to say it wont fail in the middle of nowhere?

Do you have servo brakes, pull the lever with the ignition on, hear a motor running? then yes.

Strange one that

Brakes 02 probably not Servo but If you have ABS II you have 2 red square lamps with ABS in both that blinkl together when you turn on the ignition

if you have Servo you get 2 one blinks 5 times very fast then the lower goes out and the top one blinks till ya move off Plus when you pull the brake you hear a whirring sound

I think I'll go have my beer wi the lads and mull yer problem over although my thought is for a dodgy relay at the minute

Hi everyone,
Spark sorted out my bike today in half an hour.Starting issue was down a faulty immobiliser which he removed and no more problems.Got him to reset the abs via the diagnostic plug which left both lights flashing together and the abs engaged and worked normally during a test ride.Bikes up for mot on sat evening so fingers crossed she goes through. Thanks again for all replys and thanks to the person/s who posted up on this site how to reset the abs, much appreciated.
