Sold my 1150 GS, bought a 1200 GSA sold that, bought an 1100 GS, Sold that... Bought a KTM 1050 - mainly on price. Same spec as an African Twin all in for £8.5k.....

A new LC GSA...... too expensive..... simple. (Well for me)

One day i'm going to treat myself to a Silver 1150 GSA.......... just cos I can.

Sorry the 1150GS wins, WC has no character, and too many things to go wrong, I'm only selling mine as I want a K1300GT and the wife won't let me have 3 bikes !!

Seriously, I tried a 1200 a while ago, and I liked the way it went on the open road. However, it felt less well put together than my 1150GSA. More than anything, though, it was less flexible in town traffic, and as I use mine for a long-ish commuting run into central London, the old school engine wins. So I'll be sticking with my 1150 until I retire.

Sometimes buying a particular bike is because it is the way you like to ride. Others buy to show that they are ahead of the rest and just want to show that they can ride to impress.

Last time I went to a dealer the showroom floor was awash with used R1200GS's in near-new condition.

100% yes. I'd sell the WC and buy another 1150 and then travel the world living a life of luxury.

I have had an R1150GS in my ownership since 2001. I have had a Blackbird, a Hayabusa, a K1200s, Vstrom 1000, at different times during this time.
Left now with a FJR1300 , an R1200S and the GS. I think that I will always have a R1150GS, everything else can come and go.

I have to admit, I look at the WC with some interest. As already mentioned, the motor's performance would be the main reason. But I have always always fixed my own bikes and that's done with pleasure. Indeed is one of the attractions, maintaining it myself. And that seems to be where it all gets difficult with the WC.

Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe all of us that love the 1150 are dinosaurs? I think the most 'advanced' I could contemplate is a 1200 TC...

Keep the 1150. It's served you well and deserves its last of the summer wine pasture time. Keep a young frolicker (Katoom SuperAdventure or BMW 1000XR, I suggest) to take out when you have to just have impress either yourself or your mates that you are all hip to the r-B-w vibe. You return from these brief encounters knowing deep down that you're
still actually the same meaningful ' Dude' and the 1150 will own your heart for ever. Besides it's getting rarer (and relatively less unreliable/high maintenance) with every passing year now. Sheesh! I'm convincing even myself....

Don't be fooled about the love for the dinosaur, the only reason they diss the WC is because they are all jealous at not being able to afford one.

Me, I'm greener than the rolling hills of Yorkshire such is my level of envy.

I love the WC so much I am still banned from entering their domain on here because of my enthusiasm for it.

Try one, they truly are outstandingly good with possibly the best gearbox ever to grace a two wheeled machine. The electrics package is awesome and sublime in it's operation

The 1150 has a clunky old gearbox and the electronics package is shite, the traction control on mine doesn't work properly at all. The Anti wheelie seems to be effective enough though especially if I have a tank bag on with my butties in.

I have a WC (2015 spec, with shift assist etc. I don't know why but something about he old 1100/1150 kinda gets at me. At times the WC is a brilliant bike. It's the best handling bike I've owned by far, and lugs me and camping gear around without seeming to make any impression on it. I'm going to look at an 1150 soon. ABS but no servo in the Blue and White stripes. Not to replace the WC (as yet but ask me as warranty times starts getting near to an end) but perhaps to "Scratch an itch
