It's the RAM mount that is supplied with the package. As well as the buy "from one quality source" there were 2 very good reasons why I went for this one-box package in preference to the Touratech system.

Firstly, I own a RT and a GS, Adventure-Motorcycling provided me with 2 suitable handlebar mounts, without charging me any extra for the RT mount. The RAM system is modular so the handlebar mount stays in place whilst the remainer of the mount is easily swapped between bikes and the car takes; it takes no more than 10 seconds or so. It's made from powder coated aluminium and has withstood off-road jolts and the odd tumble without moving.

The second reason was their GPS package contains a camera mount, it's used in conjunction with the modular RAM mount system. Standalone bike camera mounts are pretty expensive (£60-£80), so one for free was another plus. I have used the camera mount extensively with my digial video camera on two track days and on my travels and although it sound's sad the footage is really excellent and when edited it makes for some fun/educational watching.

One thing I have noticed is that the video footage is rock steady and this says to me that the mount is removing engine and road vibration. Adventure-Motorcycling mentioned their camera mount is now used by Granada Sky TV for most of their on-road footage.

Overall I'm delighted with the mount.

I bought a Touratech mount. It's a beautifully made bit of kit complete with a rubber mount system. I chose this unit having seen photographs of the RAM mount and City Slicker's Touratech mount in the flesh (metal?). From that comparison, the Touratech was a 'no-brainer'!

However, since then, I have seen Gazza's RAM mount. The photographs don't do this unit justice. I think that I would still have bought the Touratech item, but it would have been a closer call. (I do not have any 2-bike or camera considerations).
