I don't know if that is correct - I did 70,000 km over two summers ('01 and '02) with a SP III on my bike, fed by a half amp fuse, and never had the fuse blow, even on Polish and Irish roads, which are tied for first place as "the world's worst roads".
I use an automotive spec half amp fuse (little flat plastic thing with two blades on it) - perhaps that is more vibration resistant than a circular, glass tube type fuse that has a much longer suspended wire in it.
