If I leave my SPIII in the car overnight during the winter, I find that the next day it takes a long time to warm up and for the screen to display at its maximum brilliance. Up to that point it can be quite dim.
I've noticed the same thing on the bike except that it takes much, much longer to warm up. At one point today it must have taken the best part of 15 miles before the screen could have been described as "bright". No doubt this is both because of the ambient temperature and the wind-chill from the air which bleeds under the 1200's screen and flows up unside it.
Anyone else who uses an SPIII care to comment....?
