went out today green laning, using a route we had saved from a previous trip on my garmin 60Csx. the trouble was that lots of lanes crossed over each other and we ended up missing some out?by following wrong track? so when following a track that is crossing over itself? how do you know which one to folow?

waypoint the intersection and name for example 1TR for turn right:blast

or use this:eyesdown

ho ho.
missed the point? i followed someone else a few weeks ago. saved route and attempted to follow today? but all the same colour and no obvious clue when it crosses over itself as to which way to go?

This doesn't always work but....

Save the track into mapsource and open it. you may find that in the info on the left page it gives the start time, sometimes the track is not one continuous one so you can get a clue from there by opening each individual track.

ok will look at that?
seems odd really, have a day out trail riding cover less than 50 miles but all very close together lanes. but seems like no way of re-tracing footsteps??:confused:

Right I've had a look at some of mine and have a cunning plan.

Transfer it to Mapsource.

Open it and zoom in, you'll see that the dots are linked with a straight line.
when it comes to an 'intersection' on the track the line will tell you which way you went.

Enter a waypoint in Mapsource with a relevent title or however you want to do it.

Transfer the waypoints back to you GPS

good thinking!! will have a look at that tonight?:clap
just surprisd that the route is not alreday marked in the direction of the travel when first saved?
