Christmas is coming and SWMBO was asking what I wanted to fill out my stocking (!), reckoned I could do with a disk lock. Told her which ones were the best and off she went to find said item. Came back empty handed, the shop salesman (HG) had quite rightly recommended that she shouldn't buy one that might not fit the disk/holes etc. Didn't offer to look for the right model though.
I have a 05 GS12 with completely standard disks, does anyone a. have any good advice on what would be a suitable model, and b. know of any good dealers (that deliver) that might have offers on at this time?

Many thanks in anticipation. :drums

Good buy. Better than most for security cos it's not made of cast metal. No idea if it will fit on a 1200 though :D

The LUMA one is very nifty. It replaces your foot peg (left). You remove the footpeg and place it as disc lock. So even if the thieves manage to saw through the lock, they can't ride it away since there's no foot peg. They now have matching pairs (left and right). I'm writing up an update article on it next week, and they're shipping a set over for me to test.

I use an Oxford Enigma when my son hasn't pinched it to use on his Hornet...

It looks like they no longer market that model, though.... :nenau

I use one of the Xena alarm disk locks, great piece of kit. Ideal for when I have to leave the bike for short periods. It's very sensitive too, just a small knock to the bike and the alarm goes off. I bought one because I kept leaving the other fecker on, I'll say no more about that.... :o

Disc locks

Have a look at the latest ( December ) BIKE magazine. It has an excellent article on bike security and what to buy and what to avoid aswell. It seems some locks can simply be opened with ease , including what has just been listed above here on this forum !!!!
