Well British Summertime came today, so with the sun out i thought it was high time to start my biking season after a 6 month winter layouff

Just went out for a couple of hours and the first 20 mins felt really weird, what is this 'riding on the road' stuff and I thought why am I doing this?

Then I started to get into the groove and the bike felt a bit easier to manage, gear changes came a bit easier etc

Just had a pootle around the backroads with an awesome 53hp on tap, however there was nothing dynamic about this mode of transport

Misty views of the White Horse, at the start of the National Park

Gateway to Byland Abbey

Up in Bransdale

Even did a bit of the Rigg, it was so dry

Never been down this road before - good job the ford was dry

Like a wobbly sports bike rider, fortunately I made it home to tell the tale

Not too bad a way to spend an afternoon

Didn't know the biking season had finished JB :nenau

I'm high up in der Eifel's, on my 800GS, with 105,000 + miles on the clock, when I had to alter my clock's :D

:beerjug:

How very odd. Are you telling me there are actually some who don't ride all year round? Strange world. Nice pictures, great way to spend an afternoon indeed:thumb

Next time, let me know & I'd love to join you :)

Bumped into someone we both know in Helmsley & they send their best wishes - so maybe you're ears were burning yesterday afternoon :)

Very odd indeed - my road going bikes haven't even been started since October 2013 - I get no pleasure from riding overwinter personally & have no need to commute either

Doesn't mean I haven't been riding any motorcycles overwinter though :)

What mode did you use...:D

I took the Airhead out for a quick 100 Mile loop at the crack of dawn on Saturday, I've some Mefo explorers on the road wheels and they seem perfect for the bike - she was running really well and I managed a 104 MPH....

Took the HP2 out to do the same on Sunday but with less time (just an hour) had both the wheels off the ground as I overtook a van past a favourite hump in the road - it's a great bike but way to fast for me I'm constantly thinking feck feck slow down

Slow & wobbly :)

Don't think I got above 60 mph all day

Good job as I saw 4 camera vans out in 3 hours yesterday

Joys of marriage Wreford - I see you do lots of early morning weekend rides to be back in time for 'duties'

:)

Biking season:nenau So have I been breaking the law by riding my bike out of season? A bit like fishing in the close season I never realised there was a close season for using a motorbike. FFS! It's getting more like a Harley/sportsbike forum here every day:mad:

Nice to see you've been enjoying yourself.:beerjug:

I was out most of the weekend on the GS, and didn't see one camera van (I think!:augie).:D

Glad you are back on the road JB, sure to snow now:rolleyes: Spent yesterday sorting out details for a May 3 day to Wales and a trip to see John and Ros at Malta. Won't mention fuel cost for 2 bikes:eek: Then prepping and pampering Julie's bike, fresh out of hibernation. Simonize back to black on all the plastics . Looking good. We will let you know if coming up to your patch for a spin.:thumby:

I had to chuckle at that Nuts. :D

I dragged the GS out of hiding over the weekend to blow some out of season cobwebs off and it sure felt good!
I've even turned the heating off!

The power to weight ratio for that little single should mean it's faster than the 11½ GSA. Excludes the rider's weight of course :augie:augie:augie

I was out and about round those regions for a bit yesterday, but sadly had to go to work at 3.30.

X/Country,probably the bike I most regret selling.

Steve
