Hi all,

Looking at purchasing a sump guard/bash plate for my 2013 GSA.

I've had a look at three products at the moment and wondered if anybody had any comments on any of them?

Interesting that one of these doesn't use the standard mounts due to problems with breakages of a particular part (something I have read elsewhere as well) - I wonder how much this really matters with the level of riding I'll be doing.

Touratech - http://shop.touratech.co.uk/alumini...gs-2006-2012-r1200gs-adventure-2006-2013.html
Cymarc - http://www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk/bmw-r1200gs-sump-guard-88-p.asp
BlackDog - http://blackdogcw.com/black-dog-sho...kid-plate-for-the-r1200gs-gsa-261-detail.html

Thanks :)

See if you can get hold of the bmw bash/enduro plate, much nicer in my oppinion, doesnt work with a cymarc crud catcher, but does a much better job in my oppinion

I bought a used Touratech bash plate to go with my TT rocker cover guards. It's 3mm alloy & looks tough but I've not yet got around to fitting it. Do I need it? not even slightly, but it will go on the bike when I get some some new mounting bolts.

How about this

Is that not just the standard item?

I do intend to carry on using the bike off road - so wanting more protection than the standard piece gives.

I have a used TT one in silver, you can have it for £60 and I will throw in the authentic dinks for free - :thumb

Sorry, I posted the wrong links & left it too long to edit. £60 for a genuine TT is good value they clean up nicely

I've got the Cymarc one on mine and it works very well. Tough as old boots and been hammered up and down to Alaska and on the Dalton Highway 3 times with no problems:thumb2

I spend most of my time on the 339 and it works for me. Typical GS owner.

Decided to go with the blackdog one in the end - just got to wait a couple of weeks for delivery :)

That Blackdog one looks well hard. You could crush Minis with that.
