Sunday 11 November ride from the Silver Ball, A10

All looks good Richard! I'm sure we'll come across a memorial some where along route. Hope it's a tad drier than last Sunday was.

Yep, looks good to me as well. Aim to be at the location at 08:30..ish for some high cholesterol brekkie, would not have it any other way.

I know Chas is getting on a bit (kettle & pot) but how many days rest does he need? See you Sunday chaps.

He's been away, death of father etc. etc. My post was a joke, following a convivial lunch with the stout fellow yesterday, at his journey to hunt for (possible) gold....

Spoken to ChasMill, who was firing on all cylinders. He may yet be joining us. Text as to YES or NO sometime on Saturday.

Away we go....

We seem to have hit lucky with Sunday's weather forecast from London, through Hertfordhire, Essex and Suffolk :thumb2

Today's rain should clear. Chance of a bit of overnight frost (so take it steady) and the day warming up. Zip mention of snow or all day freezing; so all systems go for an 09:30 departure.

If everyone could have enough fuel to get us to Walker's tea stop (or all the way back to Chelmsford) that would be great. At the start of the day (before arriving at the cafe) there is fuel available at Buntigford and Royston. There is fuel close-by Walker's and again at the end of the day at our final stop in Chelmsford.

I think we have the following punters:

brianmaslen
gsgarth
Cooky
dxtans
tommymoto
NeilDD
bakerlonglegs
Wapping

ChasMill (hopefully, maybe)
Kev B (hopefully, maybe)

Anyway, 10 or so bikes, which is great :thumb2

Cheers,

Richard

Hi Richard, what's the total mileage please? (I have a Tomtom so haven't got Mapsource).

I'm still a maybe for a last minute addition... ;)

Cheers

Past 14 days , Being building up to getting the all clear from swmbo, now taken the plunge and with a 'stiff breeze ' tonight I should be allowed to attend. See ya there.

Looking at Richard's routes and depending on the final choice it shuld be around 115 from the Silver Ball to Chelmsford, hope that helps.

Thanks, looks like I have to pass this time. Have fun and post some pics at the end! :thumb

Richard many thanks for arranging a great little jaunt.Even arranged good weather.
A big thank you to Neil (NeilDD) for the use of your punture repair kit,and ofcourse Charles (flatdog) for your expert skills in the use of the repair kit.
Without your help I would still be stuck there.Thanks.
Great to meet some old and new faces. :thumb2

My thanks to one and all who came out today, especially for rescuing me ( and my trousers) from the fence.

Good fun I thought.

I may well do some more UK one-day rides in 2013, when the light gets better and the cold has near enough gone. With a bit of thought I could do some two-day (Saturday Sunday) rides, if anyone fancies something. They will have to be slotted in between Wanders across the Channel but it should be possible.

Cheers,

Richard

Thanks for organising Richard :thumb2 Great ride as always, good to meet some folks I've not seen for a while and meet some new ones.

Thanks for organising todays bimble Richard.:thumb2 Nice to get out on the bike before the weather turns. I hope the trousers are ok.

Another great run Richard, and good company. Could have been interesting if the warders had found you caught on the fence next to Highpoint women's prison? Mind you the pictures showing someone unhooking you from the fence definitely should be posted.
