then continue along passed the church rather than across the bridge and back onto main road?

We did over 300 miles.. one road blends into another

If you continued over narrow bridge towards Langholm then took next left it takes you down a narrow road to another Bridge.
We turned before first Bridge went past Church then left/right onto unmade road marked as Byway.. brings you out at second Bridge
