The weather seems to be improving somewhat lately. Checked a basic forecast for this weekend and it looks quite fine. Seems a good time to have my first proper ride out of the season.

Suggesting the following route- think its right, but know the route like the back of my hand

M6 J31a Longridge, through to Dunsop Bridge / Slaidburn
Up to Settle, then on to Ribblehead, then stop for a bacon butty in Hawes.

From Hawes over Buttertubs to Thwaite / Muker and then on and stop at Tan Hill Inn for refreshements.

From Tan Hill, back towards Kirkby Stephen, turn left in the town back towards Sedbergh, then stop at Devils Bridge for more refreshments.

Back down towards Lancaster- those that want to can join the M6 at Lancaster, otherwise go back over Quernmore / Bay Horse to North Preston / Broughton then jump on the M6 then home.

Let me know if you fancy it- suggest Tickled Trout M6 J31 as a start point.

Great route, I've ridden most of it except Hawes to Tan Hill.(Wanted to do it but always seemed to run out of time. This sunday, unless a disaster happens at work, I'm not on a time limit!)
You can count me in and if he can wangle a pass out, my sparring partner as well.
Oh hell yes, a full day out playing on the BumbleBee! :JB

Sounds good to me

I'm up for it. Bout time i rode for pleasure rather than the usual commute to work.
I will also be the newbie so it will be good to put faces to usernames.

Juice ;-)

Hey that looks v. like the outskirts of Southport S/Bikes! Nice bike btw :thumb2

She's a beauty! Ah that first ride out of Southport on a shiney new GSA after collection from Roy et al at Southport Superbikes! No feeling like it!

Yes, what a feeling being able to afford a new bike, it's the second one in my life and I won't forget it in a long time. But bettered by riding some wet and muddy roads through the Trough Of Bowland with the sun shining last week. I can't believe I used to be so limited on a sports bike.

Would have come but I'm leading a ride down through Wales to Crossgates.... Will try and get on some more rides here...

me too

can i join. Memplus one lurker. Will be on an orange and black 990 bm

Zapada- all welcome.

Right- seems like we have a good group for a ride tomorrow. Will be at Tickled Trout approx 10.15 to set off at 10.30.

See you all tomorrow

Good, glad you posted that, I was just about to ask if it was still on.My mate's wimped out, though, for a day with the Missus!
Looking forward to it.:bounce1

Fecking gutted Im missing this. God i need to get out of working in (Sh)I.T.

Have a good un. :thumb2

Hayden and Angela thanks for a great day out, you took us on a fantastic route, the weather couldn't have been better and lunch at Tan Hill was an eye-opener! Live music, lambs in the bar, big comfy leather sofas that I could have stayed in all afternoon, what a good pub.
Thanks everyone for an amazing day.

Hayden and Angela, I also had a great day. In fact, it was the best days ride i have had in years! Good sociable company and lunch at Tan hill pub was an excellent choice, but for me it was the roads. Almost empty, clean, dry and offering plenty of grip.

Again, thanks for a great day out in the yorkshire dales, hopefully we can do it again.

Juice.

Had a great day out ourselves- not a cloud in the sky, roads relatively quiet (there were a couple of Sunday bimblers and one car that could single handed destroy the ozone layer) good company and some spirited riding in places meant for a good day.

I could have sat on the sofa drinking Old Peculiar all day. Only thing was that the roads were too inviting.

Got plenty more routes up in the Dales and Cumbria. Will keep an eye on the weather forecast in the weeks and months to come. We should do it more often.

Who knows, in a couple of months we could end up scoffing what was sat in front of the fire keeping warm....... :augie

Great Day

Thanks for arranging that run, Martin and I really enjoyed it.

Seen many parts of the country never seen before.

Good company and good food.
Look forward to lammb chops in a few months time - may pop back to the pub with some mint sauce.

Trying to down load a picture, but not suceding so far. Wire issues.

Thanks again.
