Can anyone recommend a good pair of sunglasses to wear in conjunction with an Arai Tour X? I have found that even with the peak when the sun is low I am getting blinded. I would also like the glasses to offer wind protection as I like to ride with the visor up when poss. Oh and most importantly I dont want to pay a fortune.

You could buy some from somewhere like Arco, which tends to be inexpensive and safety strength - impact wise from the odd piece of flying grit etc.

My bruvver!

He knows a man who sells really ummm inexpensive but cool looking blue reflective ones that are actuaally full on safety glasses.

They're really lite, so much so that I have to check they're on sometimes (seriously!). Come right ro the "edges" too so no light creeps in.

Around a fiver a pair I think!! :clap

PM The Slow Granger on this site. You never know, someone on here might want to sell em on for a bit of profit. :nenau

I love 'em. :thumb

Skip.

I saw a brilliant pair on a dummy mountaineer in Tiso's camping shop. Flat green lenses held in with wee clips. They had the shield bits on the sides of the lenses to stop the draughts presumably. But the guy in the shop wouldnt sell me them. Display only ! I took a mental note of the name so I could look them up on the net, but it fell through one of the holes in my brain.

I use mirrored plastic arm wrap-arounds from M&S (sport type). £20 IIRC. I also have a cheap 2nd pair I bought from Target in the States as I go through at least 2-3 pairs a year. And yes I know it ain't that bright in the middle of a British winter but I do have lovely blue but sensitive eyes  that need protecting

Same answer as Les Wassall's - Maui Jim sport

Slightly different lens shape, but same brand and design. Straight arms, good quality lenses, good eye protection and robust construction.

Very comfortable and easy to put on with Tour-X

Not cheapest, but I've been using them for the past year and a half and they're the best sunglasses I've ever had for use with a full-face helmet

I use the photochromic ones that Next sell - about 15 quiddies, slim metal arms that fit great, and of course, do the job in different light conditions.

I carefully select a pair that my wife and kids hate and think I look silly in - and then I buy them, just to wind them up! :thumb

Og footloose and tasteless :P

I liked them so much I bought a box full......

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50614&highlight=sunglasses

also gave a few pairs to Skippy and Mrs for their wedding pressie. Well I would have liked them, and if they're no good I'll have em back.

Less than £4 pr - buy a box of 10 at least you wont regret it. I am not selling because I have a busy life and don't want to cheat the people in the business. They would easily retail with the £20-30 sports jobs.

Make sure you specify Swiss One 'Crackerjack' (no pencils I am afraid) blue reflective tint with anti scratch coating. Someone would be able to make a few quid for the charideee if a few boxes went to the hog roast.

The yellow tint are worth a single pair to try for low visibility improvement if you like open face riding.

If you wantpictures do a search.... I'm just of to tesy mine against thismornings uv........
