SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

I was aiming for 100 but would settle of 50 however 200 small moped's, little bikes and riders in various costumes, plus an assorted number of onlookers would be ACE, then a Le Mons style start at the cafe at JOG that would be a thing of beauty....:D

I was just looking at our pictures again WTF was I thinking....:D

I was designing a medal but ours was called RUN FROM THE HILLS but then again I have issues with the charity angle.

I'm setting up part of the office to have a mini HQ as there will be some logistics involved, plus the whole riders support bag consisting of Sticker, T-shirt, Phrase book, medal's for finishers bit like a Dakar but it's not a race, it's not a public gathering we all just happen to be randomly in the same place at the same time... or the coppers will be having someone's nuts for organising this rolling roadblock....

What are you going to do with the C90s when you get to LANDS END

oooops .... had'nt thought of that ... well i suppose it will be jog to lands end x 2 , we'll need to ride em up there , down to lands end then home again :nenau:nenau:nenau:nenau
you never know , maybe we could get a carrier like eddie stobart on board to return the bikes to a central location .... i just dont know ???

there are the issues of being the organisers... this not being a real event, without organisers, just complete fluke that we all rock up at 07.00 on the easter bank holiday... 2010 to totally indepandantly ride from a random location in Scotland to a no specific location that's else where...

if there's no organiser then there's no problem

The game would be somewhat given away if we had a truck deliver the ped's... and whoever booked the truck would be having his collar felt by the coppers....

this country sadly has rules... however we might be able to sort the truck as I've fly by nite sorted failing that I can always get someone else onside.

just had contact from a workmate ( davy )who is offering to set up a website (he's quite clever that way)where people can donate via paypal or bank transfer. or where people can simply browse and see how the preparations are going , i think this would be a good idea and it would be a good point of contact for all concerned . i have a charity bank account set up from a couple of years ago when we raised money for a local kid. i think theres still some cash lying in the account and my watch commander is the other signatory on it , so that side of thing is sorted :thumb2
davy has suggested
www.c90troop.co.uk or www.troopc90.co.uk
what do you's think ???? good idea , bad idea ??? :nenau:nenau

prob open invite aidan ,,, cheers mucker , and will we b seeing u there ???:augie:augie

Moved to Open Invite section Kirky. :thumb2

I won't be there as my bike will be in a container on it's way to San Francisco for our four week tour across the US. :)

cheers LO ,
this could become an uncontrolable monster , traffic chaos :thumb2:thumb2 , i'll speak with my mate who works in the road policing department and see what the legal side of things is regarding riding in a large group:thumb2

best not to talk to anyone much funnier and more publicity in the long run also, we only got 3 miles or so before it all started falling appart, it won't be large groups. Split the route some over the top some back down towards Inverness and there's a couple road that come down the middle. We've got it down as a challenge, not a race nor an event it's a tag-a-long. you have to kinda get yourself there, be responsible for yourself and your actions. If you talk to anyone the event will be pulled cos you'll need insurance, you'll need to tell the break down services, think about it once you go tell one lot the next will find reasons why you can't do that...

best just keep it a secret...:augie

We've picked our name which is "Run from the Hills 2010" and ithe site is half up for us at http://www.motorisedvagrant.co.uk/

it's on the Advrider forum, here and some other place I forgot which for the time being. We did that for the simple it does not conflict with anyone else's Logo which could be subject to copyright and so more hassle....

just me thinking out loud....:thumb2 not wish to scupper the idea but I've been interviewed by the police before when we've pulled a few stunt's... and it's not all it's cracked up to be.

precisely it would be a sight of awe and wonder....:D

instead of having an official organiser the challenge has an official dis-organiser.... plus there a good chance the weather can be proper rubbish... oh... it's gonna be a mess....!

come the day.... and we all rock up have a cup of tea mumble a few random words, kick some tires, snigger then at the appointed hour we all make a run for the C90's and go screaming (well as fast as they can go) into the distance....

in our case 3 miles is the record.... well just past the petrol station... which might be less:blast

a quick update ... check out www.c90troop.co.uk and see what you think , comments please

If you want to do this seriously and attract funding through that website then you need a lot more detail. You should say who you are, why you are doing this and exactly where the donations will go to. All the pages need to be populated and if you have support from the RBL then a link to their site would be a good idea. Your webmaster needs a crash course in spelling and punctuation too.

Maximise the charity aspect and minimise any reference to a bunch of bikers out to create traffic chaos.

On the plus side the graphics are nice and the website is easy to navigate.

You could think about including a guestbook but they are open to abuse and would need to be monitored.
