Hello everyone, can anyone offer any help and advise?

I am new to UKGSer, joined today.

I have just fitted a used Motorrad Zumo 550 to my 2008 R1200 GS Adventure. As such I have no instructions, I used the information in the posts in UKGSer to find the auxiliary connection plug to connect the power (nice one).

I have an Auto-Com fitted to the bike, the headphones are plugged into the GPS cradle.

For some reason there is interference (buzzing). I am unsure where the problem is as the sound on the 550 Zumo only works with it in the cradle and with the power connected. There is no provision for headphones on the GPS (only on the cradle).

My Garmin Nuvi 350 works fine with no interference at all (only using the battery. Do you know if I should use a suppressor? The noise is constant and does not increase with an increase in revs.

Any ideas? Cheers, Tony.

Yes, you need an isolator from Autocom as both the Autocom and Zumo are bike powered.

Which one in particular depends on if you use you Zumo for Phone calls, or just directions/music. Autocom also do different isolator leads for their different models.

A call to www.chainspeed.co.uk should help you out; he's a very helpful and knowledgable chap.

I'm sure this post will get mod'ed to the Bike Comms section where you'll see a other similar posts too.

Regards

Mike

I've just fitted a Zumo 550 to my bike this weekend.
Zumo and autocom both bike powered.
Got Autocom parts 2245 & 2254 from chainspeed for £33 delivered.
Just plug in and you're sorted, so easy I even managed it myself :augie
