So after much head scratching re my bike (2002 single spark R1150R) and it's frustrating surge, the opportunity to buy and try a AF-XIED, from this site came up, it was worth a punt...

So BEFORE I serviced the bike, valves, TB balancing etc, to help tune out the surge I thought I'd just fit the little box and see how it goes. The bike was surging/hesitating on a constant throttle, so it was at its worst.
The bike has a Remus exhaust, no baffle ( I like it that way, I'm deaf you see..:green gri) no cat, but standard air filter.

Fitting the box was simplicity itself, all helped by previous threads :bow set it to 7 flashes and out we go for a ride....

Bloody brilliant!! :clap:clap it now feels very much like my old twin spark 1150GSA, no surge and good throttle response.
Tried 8 flashes and it felt a little wooly, not so crisp, so back to 7 flashes for now, I will try 6 for comparison, but very pleased so far.

So if you have a surging single spark 1150, buy one and try it, you won't be disappointed, I wish I'd done it sooner.

I thought I'd post this, so if your pondering if it's worth it, just do it, it transforms the bike.

VERY much looking forward to taking the bike now through the Alps down to the SoF at the end of June.

Glad it did the job for you :thumb2 . My single spark wasnt a big 'surger' but the af-xied stoped it totally. It shoud also get even better in the next few hundred miles. My GS had the same set up as yours and I found the 6 flashes felt even crisper than 7.
