Found this on a Ducati site.

Sounds like surging to me.

"The TPS on my S4 had to be adjusted by the dealer to cure an engine stall problem when pulling away.

The bike is still a little jerky comming back onto the throttle from over-run and the engine hunts between 2 & 3,000 RPM on partial throttle."

Surging Ducati Never

My ST2 was bloody awfull almost impossible to ride between 30 and 40 MPH, I used to dread the last bit of my jorney home from teh 30 limits. Didn't even notice the GS surged at first because the Duc was so bad.
