Either weekend is good for me. I'd like to learn a few more lanes but a bit concerned about leaping off/on large rock cliffs...

The section with the big rocks is avoidable if you're not comfortable with doing it. Going down is not too bad at all; coming up is the challanging bit!!!

Saturday is on....

Saturday the 19th is a go-er; with all the rain over the last week or so we should be in for an interesting ride :D

We'll meet at Newlands corner in Guildford for a 10.00am start and head off to the start of the trails about 4 miles away.

There will mud, rock, stone, gravel, sand and probably a few more challenges for you to get to grips with; expect 60+ miles with a lunch stop at a friendly pub and to be back at Newlands around 3.00pm.

For those that want to join for part of the ride there are plently of leave/join options throughout so just let me know.

Cheers

P.S. for those that wanted to do the 26th I will probably be able to get a pass to do this (no riding in September for me as moving house) so watch this space.

Have a great day, guys!

I have to do another recce run for region 2 of the 'Pink Way Around Britain' on Saturday which is unfortunately all on road...

But I'm sure that scottykm will do a great photographer job, too, maybe even with action shots this time...

Btw, where are the ford crossing pics from May, Jarv? Don't you think it's about time to post them at long last?

Thanks - and have loads of fun!

I'm in for this, I'll see if I can get around with Tourances on without falling off. Then again it wouldn't be fun otherwise would it?

See you at Newlands Corner.

Is the going:

  • hard?
  • firm?
  • good to firm?
  • good?
  • good to soft?
  • soft?
  • heavy?

I need to know what tyres to fit!

It's hard to say to be honest as there are such varied surfaces on the route (Muddy tracks under trees, rock/stoney sections, deep sand and just a little bit of gravel).
If you have them put on off-road tyres as the rain will have created some muddy sections; however don't worry if you've only got 50/50's on the bike.

see you tomorrow.
