I'm hoping that you have read the instructions on your upcoming adventure. Starting somewhere in Europe and finishing somewhere in Africa. Something to do with Heroes I believe!

Apparently you've got to use a road book thingy and make decisons whilst riding... i thought it would be like the Cambrian with nice arrows on all the bends and a cup of tea every 40 miles

Ah, well can't promise the cup of tea every 40 mins, but there are red arrows pointing the way and we'll be very welcome at the pub half way round, where if you really want to, you can have a cuppa.
