Suspected gearbox noise.

I've got a 2001 1150gs. 42k on the clock. Just had the clutch and a few other things replaced due to a knocking noise coming from around the gearbox. Turns out even after the clutch has been done (which was f****d anyway. The knock is still there. Only notice it when the clutch leaver is pulled in.

And to add insult to injury there is now a squeaking when I pull the clutch leaver in?!?! Any ideas? Haven't a clue what it could be

How long have you had the bike?
These bikes are very agricultural and can make some worrying noises at times.
The knocking gearbox could just be slack in the drivechain as all the moving components are unloaded. (BTW the bike produces some very worrying knocks and rattles when run in gear on the centre stand, so not advisable)

I'd change the gearbox oil - check for excessive debris in the old oil. I doubt you'll find much, though it will probably be black, which if it is just black then there isn't much going wrong in there.

Squeak, Who did the clutch change? Local garage? take it there and ask for their advice, because it may be the thrust bearing is dry.

I've had the bike about 2 months now. The clutch was done by a a guy I'm very confident in I'm going back to Honda tomorrow he said he will have a look. Gearbox oil has been changed recently along with the final drive fluid. The gearbox knock isn't bothering me too much I've heard a lot about the bikes being really noise. Think the knock is just play that's causing a rattling when everything's unloaded. The screeching is a new one though. Haven't heard that one before till I came back from a short rode I did this afternoon.

My old one did that 18 months and 2 owners after I sold it , one of the main bearings in the box let go and punched a hole in the case , in the process ruining a new clutch .

Not wanting to be a doom merchant but better to get it checked out properly if it is a similar problem . New owner ended up forking out for a s/hand box and a full clutch kit
